CANCER

Cancer is one
of the few gods who is not part of the Krassidian Pantheon, being brought
over instead during the Svetlandic Invasion. And yes, she is also the
disease cancer- which has a lot to do with the way I saw the disease
when I was little. She can appear anywhere and take over any person who
suits her purpose, although those she manifests herself in fully do not
often survive the experience. |

She has been
referred to obliquely several times; a finger
to the lips, etc. It seems even her fellow gods are afraid of her;
which is not surprising given that she has already consumed her consort
and son. |

There used
to be more to her than her insatiable appetites, but the thinking, godlike
part of her is increasingly difficult to see. Currently, she just seems
to be going mad, killing anyone she can get her hands on. It is said
that she has to be invited in, but this may just be superstition- however,
even those knowingly in her thrall do not refer to her by her proper
name and everyone else just tries not to think about her for fear of
attracting her awful attentions. |

There is a
simple way to recognize those in her thrall,
besides the ghastly appearence of the terminally ill (I think that that
is the reason that John Diondel fell from grace- for no other reason
than his lady Col. Alexander cannot abide to be in the company of such
a sick man.). |
